Death by Limerick - Cdn Politics Edition

Photo: Getting a grasp on the big issues

(SNN) In the fine tradition of political limerick writing, which dates back to the 1800's, the Sage has taken to verse to try and explain Canadian current events. Okay, so it ain't Shakespear.

PM Trudeau did promise, you know,
To keep deficits 10 billion below
I say this, my friend
Can he ever spend!
Overshot by at least three times or so.

Ms. Monsef is looking forlorn.
Of her ministry, she'll soon be shorn.
Not for temperament
Or money she'd spent,
But not knowing just where she was born.

The Conservatives, everyone knows
Are replacing the leader they'd chose.
Say what you will
They're big shoes to fill
Not Harper's but Rona Ambrose.

Though some think that Trudeau's a jerk
For his strange "lying constantly" quirk,
Here's a correction
Throughout the election,
Said he'd not show up for the work.

Kellie Leitch is our female Trump.
Her, with the Alt-Right, folks will lump.
But they differ a lot
Like the money they've got
And Donald Trump's not as big of a grump.

Trudeau dines with rich corporate brass
Getting so much free dough is a gas!
He claimed, in a hurry
That we needn't worry.
All he talks of is the poor middle class.

If Trudeau, with Trump, were to eat,
The press would have such a fine treat
Imagine the fuss
Among all of us
If Trudeau charged Trump just to meet

The NDPs, in perpetual snit
Declared Thomas Mulcair just not fit
They used such debasement
They can't find a replacement
So Tom will stay on for a bit.

What the Liberals love is to tax
And now we're all taxed to the max.
Soon the only employment
With perks and enjoyment
Will be life as political hacks

The Tories' leader race was rather dreary
Then it interested Kevin O'Leary.
But then he went barmy
And berated our army
Which made other wannabes cheery.

You won't find this in Wikipedia
Nor is it a line I am trying to feed ya,
Trudeau's photograph staff
Though a bit of a laugh
Controls what we see in the media.
