Mr. Potato Head to be pulled from stores after fury from BLM

SNN – According to a local Vegreville chapter of Black Lives Matter (VBLM), the popular toy Mr Potato Head will be pulled from all toy stores by the end of November.  Mr Potato Head, a toy which was introduced by Hasbro in 1952, is said to violate civility and promotes cultural appropriation and racism.

“Why is it that the potato head is brown and has an array of big lips and nappy hair as accessories,” cried Shaquata Brown of the VBLM. “Do you have any clue as to how many of ‘my’ people have been arrested because of it?”

Brown advised that the toy came to their chapter's attention after a video was discovered on the internet of a black man being arrested by a Montana State Trooper. The man had a Mr. Potato Head stuffed in his back pocket. The arrest, which became very intense, resulted in the lips, hair, and left ear of Mr. Potato Head being ripped off and left behind on the side of the highway.

“I mean, if Mr. Potato Head had been colored pink, or white, there is no way the police would have ripped it apart and left it to rot!”  stated Brown.  “It's a clear case of police brutality and harassment of black people.”

In a submitted protest draft from Brown, the VBLM have stated that white kids playing with a brown toy, and placing mocking body pieces on it is pure racism. Furthermore, the paper makes the case that creating black people to play with is a form of slavery, whereby white children can make the toy do anything they want.

The VBLM have demanded that the toy be removed immediately from all toy stores before the Christmas rush. “Listen people," warned Brown, “if that toy is allowed to flourish any longer, heads will roll!”

The Vegreville Chapter of BLM became famous when a cultural demonstration in that small Alberta town culminated into civil unrest resulting in  Kielbasa and Halupshi being thrown around and wasted during a Ukrainian festival.

The VBLM have stated that they are considering going after Pixar for the use of that character in the movie Toy Story. “We need to end all racist toys,” concluded Brown.
