Trudeau "Forgot" Pot Legalization in Platform

(SNN) Liberal leader Justin Trudeau claims his vow to legalize and tax marijuana for recreational use was just him thinking out loud after blowing a huge fatty.

"If we really were going to legalize and tax it, don't you think we would be putting in our budget the hundreds of millions of dollars we could say we'd earn if we did?" chortled the youngster impishly.

"Get real though," he continued. "Everyone knows we always promise that and never deliver it. If we delivered on all our promises, what would we promise in the next election?"

Although Trudeau did make marijuana legalization a much-talked about issue, it has baffled many political observers why he dumped a candidate for her strong support of marijuana use on Facebook and distanced himself from the Emerys.

The Emerys are, of course, Canada's pre-eminent cannabis crusaders and would be a huge asset amongst a certain demographic. Jodie Emery had even sought the Liberal nomination in Libby Davis' old riding but was shot down like an inattentive fighter pilot.

"There are so much more important things to debate now," explained Trudeau, "such as the proper attire for women at a citizenship ceremony."
