Twenty-Second Amendment Repealed: Obama to run for third term

(SNN) In what will become known as the strongest statement of support, a sitting President can receive, August 10th will become known as “Obama Day”.

Today, in what is being cited as a radical move, congress voted overwhelming to repeal the twenty-second Amendment (Amendment XXII) of the United States Constitution, which set a two term limit for election and overall time of service to the office of President of the United States.

The move started when President Obama, in a speech from July 29th, in Ethiopia, stated, "I actually think I'm a pretty good President. I think if I ran, I could win. But I can't. There's a lot that I'd like to do to keep America moving. But the law is the law, and no person is above the law, not even the President."

It is speculated that Obama knew of an open resolution from January 4, 2013, put forth by Rep. José M. Serrentino, making his comments cheeky, but prophetic.

During a media scrum following the vote, members from both the Democratic and Republican parties overwhelmingly chided support for President Barack Obama. “He is the best President in the history our Republic.” came the response from a Arkansas legislator. “Obama is leading the country into new uncharted territories, places we need to go as a society,” chided a former Governor of Alaska.

It is not known for sure whether Obama will run as a Democrat or Independent for a third term. But one thing is for sure; with Obama in the mix, Trump is all hot air.
