Activists Try to Stop Shell Icebreaker Leaving for Arctic

(SNN) In an effort to stop the Dutch oil company Shell from leaving Portland and sailing to the Arctic to drill for oil, protesters dangled themselves from St John's Bridge, over the Willamette river, to try to prevent the ship from leaving.

The action only caused a short delay while midshipmen scraped a few of them off the bridge observation windows, and removed some clothing from their radar array.
