BC Legalizes Pot - Few Notice

(SNN) The very Liberal government of Christy Clark of British Columbia has rammed through legislation making legal the possession of marijuana “in small amounts”. According to the bill, a small amount is described as ‘one of those large round hay bales you see in farmer’s fields’. To imbue the proceedings with symbolism, the final reading of the legislation was introduced at 4:20 PM.

“It’s about time we got around to this,” said Clark during a joint meeting afterward with the press. “I thought the province had passed this legislation yonks ago.”

Many public figures commented on the move by Clark.

“I just want to say ‘congratulations’ to uh… to… um… oh yeah… Crispy Clark for uh… that thing,” said Justin Trudeau when reached at his home during a dinner party with friends.

Temporary Opposition Leader, Thomas Mulcair was also reached for a response to the new legislation.

“It wasn’t legal there before? Huh! Who knew?” said Mulcair.

The Conservative Party of British Columbia couldn’t be reached as he was out of town.

The Prime Minister was quick to react to this incursion into federal responsibility. His party is the only one who still believes smoking a plant should have a legal consequence.

“Whatever. I’ll never understand those tree-hugging, pipeline-hating hippies anyway,” wrote Harper in a press release which included a picture of Harper shrugging his shoulders. “It’s not like I can send in tanks over this. Besides, they’re all in the shop getting fixed.” also: Stephen Harper Announces He Will Try Pot
