Canadian Flag to Revert Back to the Canadian Red Ensign

User license due to expire

(SNN) - A little known clause in an agreement between the Estate of Canadian Flag designer, George Stanley, and then Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson, will go into effect February 15th, on the 50th Anniversary of the modern flag. “What most do not know,” advised the Honorable Shelby Clover, Minister of Canadian Heritage, “... is that Canada only leased the design with an option to sign a permanent copyright from the Stanley family by 1975.”

According to public record, former Prime Minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau believed the agreement was nonsense and is known to have stated, “Let them eat cake," in relation to losing the rights to the modern Canadian Flag design.

“It is true,” advised Clover, “we have until midnight tomorrow to officially revert back to the Canadian Red Ensign, which flew from 1957 to 1965.

“We do not want to see any flag burning in our country,” stated Clover, “... so we are recommending that all Canadians in possession of the modern Canadian Flag, please place them in the nearest Salvation Army clothes hamper,” Clover added, “It's fitting that they be repurposed.”
