There Goes "Honey Boo Boo"

The TLC Reality Show Abruptly Cancelled Amid Dirty Laundry

(SNN) – Honey Boo Boo is no more, a cancellation that has Boo Boo fans Boo Hoo-ing, wherever they may be. Friday saw TLC cancel the colourful series about a child beauty pageant contestant and her equally colourful family.

Although TLC had already filmed another season of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo", the cancellation came through without any public explanation from the network.

Rumours that June Shannon, “Honey Boo Boo” Alana's mother, was dating a man with a criminal past may have been the motivation for the cancellation. It is a rumour that Shannon has publicly denied on Facebook. However, it came off the heels of a joint statement published on the show's Facebook fan page from Mama June and Sugar Bear: "Sugar Bear and I have decided to take some time apart to figure out some things in our relationship. We are taking things day by day, but regardless of what happens, the girls will always be our number one priority. We want to thank y'all for your support."

Whether the dramatic rumours from the “reality” TV hit for TLC is based on fact, comments from fans are harsh and are equally colourful, a fitting response to a odd, if not entertaining, “realcom”. One fan wrote, “I'm appalled by what June has done. It's an absolutely disgraceful situation. I feel very bad for Anna and worried for the other girls. Take charge Sugar Bear. Get custody of Alana!”
