Unpublished James Bond story to become a New Novel.

Ian Fleming's "Murder on Wheels" to receive novel treatment

(SNN) – A story written by Ian Fleming for a never produced television James Bond Series will be brought to life as a full novel by writer Anthony Horowitz. Horowitz, a Bond fan and accomplished novelist and screenwriter, was approached by Ian Fleming's great-niece, Jessie Grimond, to take one of the stories and rewrite it as a new novel. "Given that Anthony is as brilliant a screenwriter as he is a novelist, we thought it would be exciting to see what he would do with one [of the episodes]," stated Grimond.

Horowitz, a well-known author of the Alex Rider spy series, has also written the bestselling Sherlock Holmes novel "The House of Silk". As a screenwriter, Horowitz has written for numerous mystery shows, including Agatha Christie's Poirot and Midsomer Murders.

As for James Bond, his career began in 1953 with the story "Casino Royale", a story that was adopted as a made-for-TV movie, a comedy big budget motion picture starring Peter Sellers, and most recently the action-packed movie starring Daniel Craig in 2006. In all, James Bond has fought the bad guys in over 20 novels written by former intelligence officer and prolific author, Ian Fleming.

Horowitz's treatment is slated to be published in September of 2015. It will be based on Fleming's script titled "Murder on Wheels," a story written in the 1950s that involves the super-spy James Bond 007, taking part in a Formula One race and tackling the villainous Russians.

With Russia now back in the news as the international bad-guys, we may just witness "Murder on Wheels" as a classic Bond thriller with old opponents battling it out.
