Comedian John Pinette: dies at the age of 50

Found diseased in his hotel room in Pittsburgh. PA.

(SNN) - April 5th, 2014, will be remembered as the day comedy died. Comedian John Pinette, known for his role as a guy who got mugged in the sitcom "Seinfeld" finale, was found dead in a hotel room Saturday in Pittsburgh, PA.

Authorities at the Allegheny County medical examiner's office reported that Mr. Pinette' death has not been ruled suspicious, and NO foul play is suspected. Although not confirmed, no autopsy will be conducted due to premedical conditions reported by his personal physician.

During several stand-up performances, Pinette would poke fun at his personal issues, including revealing that he suffered from a condition that forced him into a gluten-free diet. In August of 2013, Pinette had checked himself into rehab. It was reported then that he suffered from an addiction to pills.

Pinette was known as one of the funniest stand-up comedians in the industry, a favourite with a large fan-base. His routine, “Around the World in 80 Buffets”, is considered one of the funniest stories shared in standup.

The world has lost a special person. Mr. Pinette was only 50.
