Obama and Iran's Rouhani Now Facebook Friends

Political Analysts Dissect 'Momentous' Move

(SNN) - U.S. president Barack Obama has officially indicated he and his Iranian counterpart, Hassan Rouhani, have become BFF’s by “friending” one another on the public social media platform, Facebook. It is widely acknowledged the two had started out breaking the ice on the exclusive, world-leader-only site Fuhererbook and mutually decided to ‘take it to the next level’ and go public with their friendship.

“I think it is an important step for these two sitting presidents to have made that all-important social connection,” claimed media watcher and political pundit, Lim Rushbough. “It is particularly telling that it was Obama who ‘liked’ a Rouhani post first which obviously signaled that America is intent on exploring new initiatives to break the nuclear issues that have deadlocked the two nations for years.”

The post the U.S. president clicked “like” on was a picture of a kitten with a cute hat and sunglasses. The photo was sandwiched between a posting showing the Rouhani family portrait complete with the entire clan wearing ‘Death to Israel’ T-shirts and a cartoon depicting a giant, comical Bashar el-Assad spraying insects in Syrian garb with Raid.

“I think we have made some major steps in dealing with Iran’s nuclear threat today,” said Obama via his Twitter feed. “Who knows? Maybe a private chatroom next time.”
