Edmonton Eskimos Continue Almost Undefeated Streak

Eskis Close To Awesome In Yet Another Almost Win

(SNN) - The Edmonton Eskimos are in an almost jovial mood after nearly winning again. The latest close call was a squeaker in Calgary where QB Mike Reilly had an almost stellar third and fourth quarter to come within a chin whisker of victory. The almost staunch defense on the Edmonton side nearly made the comeback, the sixth of the season, a reality.

“It was almost a great game,” enthused coach Kavis Reed. “Our offensive staff really turned on the jets in the second half and narrowly missed making a game of it. With our special teams almost having a great day, we nearly had a complete game on both sides of the football for almost a good half of that tilt. I almost can’t wait until next week in Edmonton.”

Fred Stamps, who almost caught the game-winning touchdown was equally stoked about the Eskis prospects. The veteran Eskimo receiver is ranked among the best in the league and has almost caught a number of game-winning balls this season.

“Just you wait until next week,” grinned Stamps in the almost silent locker-room. “I guarantee, when we play in our own back yard, we’ll be almost ready.”
