Sight-Challenged Drivers Take Law Into Own Hands

'Is City Hall Blind to Our Problem?'

(SNN) - Patrons of the CNIB in Cloudy View, PEI were getting frustrated with their local town council and took matters into their own hands last week. After town officials were slow to erect proper safety signage for the street adjacent to the CNIB parking lot, they erected an official-looking sign of their own.

“We needed a pretty big magnifying glass to see what we were printing but I think it turned out pretty professional looking,” grinned sign painter Lisa “Blinky” Telpuk. “Those crisp lines and sharp edges were tough to get just right.”

The mayor of the town of 8000, Cameron McDonald-MacDonald was perplexed when asked to respond to the charges that the council has dragged their feet in allocating funds for the CNIB signage.

“What the hell are a bunch of blind people doing behind the wheel, anyway?” asked His Honour.
