Suspected Meth Lab Found in Etobicoke

SPCA Drug Squad Brought in to Investigate

(SNN) - A black Labrador male dog has been busted in connection with a drug seizure in a joint venture with the OPP and the Ontario SPCA’s crack drug division. The latter group was formed to weed out animals in vulnerable situations due to the presence of pharmaceuticals in the home.

Buddy, a 49 year-old (dog years) black lab was apprehended in a home in a quiet neighbourhood while in the middle of “cooking” a new batch of the drug meth-amphetamine which he is suspected of selling to other dogs in the nearby off-leash area he frequents.

“This is a first for me,” claimed Sergeant Brian Tokar of the OPP after the raid. “I’ve never arrested a black lab for any offense in the past. I’ve had to detain a number of pit-bulls, some German Shepherds and a couple Shiatsu that had gone on a drunken leg-humping spree, but labs are usually fairly law abiding. They usually get their ecstasy rush from catching a Frisbee.”
