Federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans in Hot Water

Federal Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, Keith Ashfield, who is almost as famous as Ferlin Husky, is in more hot water than a lobster at a seafood restaurant. The minister was responding to opposition questions regarding the robotics program the department had embarked on at a cost to taxpayers of a whopping $2.6 billion.

The poster-boy of the program was a remote-controlled, multi-array sensor device. It was equipped with sensitive instruments to measure water temperature, pressure, current direction, current speed, along with audio and video and a comprehensive classic rock library. In order to have the least amount of impact on the natural behavior of the inhabitants of the depths, the delicate instrument was made to look like a small fish. Unfortunately, however, on it's maiden voyage, the multi-million dollar, remote control herring was promptly eaten by a much larger and more aggressive robotic fish owned by the Department of Natural Resources.
